Where to Whitewater Kayak in Rochester

Irondequoit Bay - Beautiful summer day tripping to be had. This long bay has all sorts of hidden gems in store. Theres an island you can camp on, theres endurance paddling, race paddling, sailing, motorists. This bay connects to Lake Ontario at its mouth and Irondequoit Creek at its rear

Genesee River - This may be one of the only sections of whitewater in Rochester that is runnable all year long. At lower levels it has a small surf wave and some mid river eddies you can attain up through. Mostly just a practice place if you want to stay in tune with your boat between the rains.
