Whitewater Kayak Trips or Routes

Boise

Lower Owyhee
Owyhee River - The river itself is commonly referred to as a guideā€™s river and the water flows are only perfect for a small time of the year which is . Along with the wonderful whitewater the destination was chosen for its location, hot springs along the river, natural features, hoodoos, towering bluffs, plateaus which provide many opportunities for exploration by hikes near our campsites. Some hazards that are specific to this location are that the river is generally very remote, primitive and wild with facilities only at the put-in and take-out. As well, depending on the water flow there can be class IV and VI rapids. Another hazard for this location would be the weather as it can be quite varied and possibly quite cold. Rapids that could be a hazard based on water levels (these rapids would be scouted and assessed and potentially portaged) Key Notes: -Everything must be taken out, including human waste and ash -Camp sites are first come first serve and can only be used one night -It gets cold at night and real hot during the day - There are many snakes We also experienced record high flow rates (close to 4500CFS ) which changes the river drastically by flooding camp site beaches, hot springs and rapids which may cause incidents like we faced on the Bulls eye rapid which is highlighted in out video.
