Where to Sup in East Lyme, Waterford
Region Details
Looking for the best places to Sup in and around East Lyme, Waterford? Below are some great routes, trips and resources to help you Sup in and around East Lyme, Waterford.
Niantic River - This is a quiet run that most renters at Three Belles Outfitters will do during their 2 hour rental trips, you leave TBO which is located on Smith Cove, head out into the Niantic River and head North up the river. Renters are requested to hug the shore or quickly cross the boating channel into the mooring field to avoid being in boat traffic ways. About a 35 minute paddle or 20 minute pedal up river you’ll pass sandy point, a large sandbar and quaint public beach on the Waterford side of the river which can be a nice spot to beach and relax. Keep an eye out for the bar marker though if you’re in a pedal kayak to avoid running ashore. If you continue past that roughly another 25 minute paddle or 15 minute pedal you’ll see Indian/High rock on the western (East Lyme side) shore of the river, many locals enjoy climbing and jumping off this rock in the summer. Then it is about a 45 minute paddle back down the river give or take depending on the tide as the river is tidal. No constant current to speak of though other than that.
