Nith - Canning to Paris is a 3 hour paddle, which is navigable in spring when water is 10cms or higher. Between Canning and Paris it's primarily flatwater and riffles, but the last two km's heading into Paris introduces a series of class II rapids. At lower water levels between 10-30 cms it's more technical with rocks that will need to be avoided. Strainers are also not uncommon along the banks. At higher water levels there are some larger wave trains, but otherwise pretty well padded. There are also a few spots for surfing at just about any level. This whitewater section in Paris can be scouted fairly easily by following the single track trails on river right from Lion's Park.
