Apsley to Haultain
Eels Creek - Constricting swifts twisting and turning along highway 28. Chutes ranging from class 2-4. Not a beginner friendly river. Many must make eddies. Canyons in beginning and end are fun, but very deceptive. Second one has cracked boats on river right before (too far river left goes into a wall face). Final rapid has a nasty hole and pushes into wall face that tends to have wood. Continuing down to High falls brings a larger drop that must be scouted for wood. Note that on the right channel there is a rope that swimmers use in the summer that can be dangerous as it is right below a sticky hole.
