Where to Canoe in Arnprior

Ottawa River - Day trip from Arnprior to Norway Bay. Do as a round trip, or one way

Ottawa River - This is a flatwater out & back trip along the Ontario shoreline of the Ottawa River. Arnprior is just west of Ottawa on Hwy 17 so this is an ideal half or one-day paddle for Ottawa area residents and visitors. You will pass some residences in the town of Arnprior, then a few cottages in a wilderness setting. Some potential destinations downstream include small sand beaches, wetland areas and the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Ottawa River - Head out on this 10.0-km out-and-back trail near Arnprior, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This trail is great for birding, fishing, and paddle sports, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
