Upper willow
Willow River - This short but fun feature filled run is great when spring run of starts to slow down. At high water run of this section has a bundle of catch on the fly waves. This is a short run that can be lapped easily on the old logging road. At lower flows form small eddies behind boulders. Known to have large wood at times caught on boulders that create its features.
Lower
Willow River - A short section of the willow from the take out of the upper to the rest stop, often combined with the upper section. Shortly after the put in the river canyons forming wave trains, holes and some exciting eddies. The biggest rapid is directly down stream the hwy 16 bridge. Goes at various water levels, no gauge, use the bowron as a proxy. Good play waves can be found in the canyon at various flows with eddy access. Can be wood prone so have a peak from the hwy 16 bridge before putting on. *** Do not continue past the take out, there is limited take out access in the next canyon which has a sieved out class VI rapid ~2k past the take out.
