Paddling on the Whiteshell River

Whiteshell River - The Whiteshell River is one of the best sections of whitewater in southern Manitoba. Several "California Style" drops and slides are found along its course as the river cascades over the smooth Canadian Shield. This river only flows at optimal levels after large rainfall events, locals can sometimes go several years without seeing the section come in. The section of river is approximately 7 kilometres in length. In true Manitoba Fashion, it is a pool and drop style river with sections of flat water separate more technical drops. Shuttle can be easily be set with vehicles, a bike, or a pair of running shoes, making it an easy section to lap.
