Paddling on the Waikato River

Waikato River - A big ol' park and huck, generally played out in front of loads of tourists. So, be prepared for glory or to crash and burn in front of a crowd! The difficulty of this rapid and drop vary greatly based on water levels, so take that into account when planning your first and subsequent descents.

Waikato River - A mellow float trip that is incredibly beautiful. There are a few little 'riffles' along the way but as long as you take out above Reids Farm it is all very simple. You can stop at the hot springs part way down and might be lucky enough to get a 'rivers eye' view of people bungy jumping. If you go to Reids Farm there is some easy Class II rapids.

Waikato River - Lovely paddle. Start at Horahora Domain and head up to Pokaiwhenua Stream. Easy Paddle and relaxing. Glow worms at night.
