Upper
Salmon River - Special thanks to Gwen and other KWP members for helping update this descriptions. (currently looking for low medium and high flow pictures/video to add) The Salmon River is one of the earliest rivers in the area that becomes ice free, and usually the flows last the longest on this river. It is known to be a less demanding run then some of the other Hwy #7 runs. The levels range, with no maximum flow. Known hazards are potential for downed trees, rocks when the level is under 22 on the gauge, and the low bridge just after the takeout.
Section 2: Route 2A to Black Hole through Pulaski
Salmon River - One of the most reliable runs in western NY. Releases in mid-late summer make it runnable when most streams have dried up. There's some pretty good play, culminating in Titanic, an excellent hole. It's also a popular fishing river. When the fishermen are angling for salmon there is a lot of line and hooks to dodge
