Payne Lake Provincial Recreation Area
Payne Lake - Nice lake with very little traffic. The lake gets quite warm in the summer, enough to swim in it for a bit. There is very little development on its shores and lots of water fowl to be seen. Beautiful mountain views from the lake when you paddle towards the NW. If the water level is high enough it is possible to follow the creek that feeds the lake at the NW end for some time. Depending on paddle speed and water level this can be a faster half day trip or a relaxed full day trip.
