Paddling on the Pacific Ocean

Pacific Ocean - Easy paddling, tide goes way out. Stay within buoy markers, as Burrard Inlet is channel for boats, cruise ships & cargo carriers. Paddle between beaches or cross over from Kitsilano beach to Secon Beach in English Bay. Can paddle east past Vernier Park, but ferry & boat traffic will decrease paddle experience.

Pacific Ocean - A trip around Jesse Island in Departure Bay continuing around Newcastle and Protection Islands and back along the Nanaimo Harbour to Departure Bay Beach.

Pacific Ocean - Beautiful beach with decent access for fishing a short paddle away. Good while storm swell is quiet, and wind is down. Conditions can change dramatically when you get out of the bay.

Pacific Ocean - It is recommend to make an early morning put-in From Porteau Cove, head North between the sisters and Anvil Island. After Passing the point head west till you round the western end of Anvil Island after rounding the point head east up Howe Sound toward Squamish. returning to Porteau. In my case the wind was at My back for the return trip to Porteau

Pacific Ocean - After hiking out of Strathcona Park you can have Tofino Water Taxi drop off your kayaks in Bedwell Sound, then you can paddle out! Or Paddle directly from Tofino-Lots of logistics, do your research.
