Moira River - The Moira is one of the more moderate of the highway 7 springtime runs, and host to a popular river race every year. The river is usually still runnable after most of the other rivers in the area have become too low.
The weir at the put in is not runnable at any level, so put in on the left bank downstream. There are a number of fun rapids, and often several choices around islands. The bedrock is limestone, and sometimes traps some wood in lower water levels. At higher flows, the river becomes a set of fun, bouncy wavetrains, the only real hazard being the trees on the bank. Do not go past the take out as there is a dam just downstream.
