Paddling on the Kipawa River

Kipawa River - This is a great big water run. Most people run the river during Kip Fest. This festival is held every Jean Baptist Day weekend in June. The festival is dam released, so water is guaranteed around 150 to 200 cms. The river is runnable at all levels. At the lower end the river does not get above a Class III, with the exception of Pete's Dragon, the middle three drops in Hollywood rapid (a tight technical Class IV) at the mouth of the river.
