Lower
Kaslo River - A beautiful creek that runs alongside the 31a Highway into Kootenay lake. This creek is very continuous in nature, and has some very stacked class IV drops. Starting off about 7km up the road from Kaslo, expect some class III/IV boulder gardens. Once you reach a couple of drops that feel more like slides, eddy out on the river left to scout the next sections; the Dam section and Bridge section are stacked, and many consider it class V. Dam section: Sneak line on entry waterfall (6') river right. 3 more drops after this. There are two lines at the bottom drop. Line yourself up according to which one you want to do. Bridge section: after a 50m break, be prepared to hit a slide (river left). I recommend going right after this for a boof into a second slide (the left line is a big frowny hole with no friendly escape routes). after these, there is one more class IV boulder garden before the trip mellows out.
