Paddling on the Capilano River

Capilano River - The Capilano is a spectacular local North Vancouver run with inspiring scenery. For a run that is surrounded by the city you disappear into a class II/III canyon style river. The characteristics of the river follow a pool drop style. The bigger and more intimidating rapids are the first couple. This run provides some longer continuous class II/III rapids. The river is shallow, caution for beginners at all river levels. For a general rule of thumb the lower the water the less pushy the water but the shallower and more delicate the moves. Medium to Higher water levels offer more lines, but bigger pushier water. There is a lot of fun hydrology through the river.
