The Bow Valley Kayak Club's "next steps" program.
This course schedule is four once a week daytime sessions over 4 weekends.
This program is for those that have the basic skills necessary to navigate easy rivers and are looking to improve their technical ability, confidence, and have more fun on more challenging features and different rivers. It is designed as the next course to take after a beginner whitewater kayaking course.
During the sessions we will explore more parts of the river, gain confidence going through bigger waves and features, learn more about line-choice, river reading, maneuvers, rescue tactics, equipment, and teamwork, and start to learn how to move to anticipate as well as move to react.
Locations are usually the bow river and the Kananaskis river.

Or call our head coach Robbie on (587)-585-8711
This course is not suitable for beginners. The ability to navigate class 1 water, use eddies, and safely exit the boat during a capsize is necessary for safe participation.
This is a whitewater specific course done in whitewater specific kayaks. we are un-able to allow recreational type kayaks on our courses.
If you are a beginner have a look at our "zero to hero" courses.
